Sorry, Mr. Malkin


When I first saw the cartoon by Sean Delonas in the New York Post, it seemed very one-sided and after analyzing it further, I discovered that the cartoon was more of an attack against the proposed skyscraper, 15 Penn Plaza. In the cartoon, Delonas tries to persuade the audience into believing that 15 Penn Plaza will have a negative impact on the nearby Empire State Building. Delonas based is argument on weak facts and relied heavily on the lack of knowledge of his audience to prove his point. I chose this cartoon because I am interested in skyscrapers and the cartoon sparked my interest in the topic brought up in the cartoon.
