I chose "Faith in America" because it is dealing with current problems within our government. Even though this speech was given in 2007 it still concerns many issues dealing with theocratic tyranny and economic status. Mitt Romney former Massachusetts governor and one of the 2012 Republican presidential nominee's gave this speech in 2007 to persuade his voters and listeners that American leadership is not strong and confident as it once was. This weakened leadership is caused by the lack of religion within the government. This speech was interesting to me because it is dealing with current issues within our government and the urgency to involve religion within the government to fix the weak American leadership.
