It's a big deal!

In chapter seven the two main topics were about how to avoid plagiarism and how to document those sources that you used in your paper. At college plagiarism is a very big deal, but sometimes students unintentionally due, by trying to paraphrase what someone said in their own words, but they are actually just switching up that authors words. One way to avoid this is by keeping in mind that you are kind of having a conversation with someone and you want to tell them about something, but making sure you are introducing the people from where you got your information from.
Documenting where you got your information from is really important. There are many ways that you can document information, but for this paper we are using MLA (Modern Language Association). MLA helps us know who the author of where you got your information is, how recent it was published, and what type of document you used. In your paper when you are using someone else’s information you have to use in-text citation, which helps the reader refer back to your documented information of that source. When using MLA, you cant use the same exact style for all of your works because you may not have used just a website, book, or an article. All of these have different ways of being cited, even advertisements, films, and you tube. You don’t have to remember all of the ways to cite something, but it would help to know the gist of so you don’t have to look up everything all the time.
