CH 3:Canons of Rhetoric

The canons of rhetoric are the all forms of communitive acts. They are categorized as invention, arrangement, style, memory, and delivery. Invention is the process by which we create methods for finding all available arguments. Arrangement is simply the order in which you shape your argument. We have chronological in which events are placed according to time. Cause-effect in which the cause of a probelm is given followed by the effect. Problem solution is basically a stated problem followed by an appropriate solution. Block structure is a series of examples laid out. Thematic is relationships between different works. Deffered thesis is where you substitute the thesis for a question. Style concerns choosing the proper expression for the idea of your argument. Such as titles, introductions, and conclusions. Style is your rhetorical stance. Crafting a postion paper is by definition presenting one side of an issue. Memory is accessing learned materials.Delivery is the presnetation of crafted ideas to an audience.
