Research Research, and More Research

Chapter five is called Finding and Evaluating Research Sources. It starts out by saying tips of how you can research. Evaluating your resources is a very important step. With your research you must keep in mind what you are going to be writing about. You even need to keep in mind the audience who is going to read your paper. When it comes to researching something, you will add up the tons and tons of information you find and combine it into one little paper.

When doing research make sure you have “search words.” These will be the words that you always look up, to narrow down your research if you have a lot. When dong research you will have primary, and secondary sources. The primary sources, are the original texts you analyze in your research paper. Secondary sources are text that provide commentary on your topic and often analyze the text chosen as the primary sources.

Hopefully everyone knows this but you must evaluate your sources. You should make sure that the sources that are being used are credible, and can be backed up to stand as a good resources. It is also not just one resource that needed to be evaluated, websites, library and database sources, and field research all need to be evaluated. All these sources are different and that should be keep in mind when being evaluated. Make sure you take careful notes when doing this. Your paper will not be as good as it can if the resources you use are bad. Keep in mind the audience and what you really want to be writing about. If you keep all these things in mind, you will for sure have the best research paper.
